SCC33
SCC33 National Variety Testing Group
Multi-state project SCC33 (formerly SRIEG-33) was formed in 1983 and provides a national forum for information exchange between state crop variety testing programs and the seed/agribusiness industry. The group is primarily composed of university variety testing specialists, breeders, & extension specialists, seed company and small plot research equipment & technology company representatives, but is open to anyone interested in this area of research.
Primary objectives are to improve state variety testing programs by: learning new techniques / technologies related to variety testing and to understand the goals, new seed technologies and future direction of seed company interests, and to provide an interface for discussion and resolution of problems common to public institutions and private organizations. Other goals are to expedite the transfer of information to crop producers and agribusiness clientele; maintain directory of variety testing personnel and web links to state programs and seed companies/agribusiness; recognize individuals who have made significant contributions in the area of variety testing.
